Sheesh It's hard to imagine why a network would even get involved with something so controversial. Of course I realize it's because of the $$$ but this begs to ask the question "Is there nothing off limits anymore?".
With an Alexa of only around 300,000, you know most of their commissions are earned via the toolbar.

That company is in the Prudential Tower in Boston. They are located a few floors above CSN. Evidently they are a few floors below us when it comes to ethics. Good to know. Thanks for posting that info, Haiko.

If this isn't a wake up call to the decent merchants who run their programs through Linkshare I don't know what is.
Merchants, why do you continue to do business with this dishonorable company that steals your organic sales and affiliate sales, too?

Between this and seeing a pricerunner rep working the cj booth at ad tech it amazes me that people still call the networks big networks

You know, if it weren't for ABW and the watchful eyes of thousands, I sometimes feel our industry would have gone to the dogs ...
Talk about conflict, how about data-mining?
Sad ...

Onecause is also the new home of SchoolPop
onecause.com/schoolpop
I just can't believe these people will go so low. Stealing their own affiliates and merchants. There's no limit to that thievery.

I would like to hear something about this from LS - is there a chinese wall between the business models..?
This is very disconcerting to see... I don't want my stats available to a competitor. It's that simple.

Here ya go, fresh off the presses ...
http://www.abestweb.com/onecause.zip it's an AVI file
Please make note of the fact that I just downloaded the program (as you can clearly see) didn't sign in to anything and they already redirected my clicks even on what was obviously affiliate traffic - even SaS merchant traffic.
PS Sorry for the FoxBusiness noise in the background
PPS - got new software and made a few more while I was uploading the first one ... here they come ... get your

I watched the video but can you go into a little more detail?
Typed in ebags, you went to site and I see a One Cause Box pop up where you have to sign in.
Then typed in ecampus, went to Google search results. You clicked one Adwords ad, it went to that site. Then went back and clicked an Ecampus PPC ad and it went to Ecampus and I just saw a sign in box for One Cause.
But I didn't see any redirection in the video.

LinkShare has got some explaining to do here. But somehow I don't envisage any explanation to justify the situation they got themselves into. Total disrespect of both affiliates and merchants is a mild way to put it.
Good policing, Haiko.

Here, let the next vid explain it all ... give me a sec it's out of sequence but you'll see it all.

So the last video shows the affid from FW being overwritten by this POS? Is that correct? Yikes.

Yes that is correct and this POS is Linkshare, not just another rogue money for nothing parasite, this is your "trusted" third party.

Doesn't this violate some sort of written agreement? Is there any chance of doing anything about this other than dropping LS like a bad habit?

There's some more information here about it, but this is old news, Kellie reported this more than a year ago.
http://affiliatefairplay.com/newsbl...auseloyaltycom/
What miffs me is the linkage to TopMoxie... I mean, c'mon, LS is supposed to provide a service to their merchants, not fool them while stealing from them. I wasn't surprised when this news broke a while back, it's our "trusted" networks evolving into the slime. When I get disappointed is when some idiot affiliate comes along and bashes someone like SAS because their graphics look outdated... our collective wisdom at spotting the folks doing the most damage to us all fits in a little tiny corner of the affiliate universe... there's a dozen or so folks who know that corner's details... Haiko and Kellie are two of the primary ones, which is why I've maintained a melncholy stance that they couldn't get along in the dynamic duo fashio that they once did.
Oh well, scum everywhere, back to pouring bleach on them... am contacting the FTC this month to initiate a whistle blower complaint on something I discovered a few months ago, now documented and ready for submission, thinking of hiring a lawyer for this one, nasty phuckers I snagged aren't likely to just fold up their tent, think they're going take some shots at my bleach bottle...
Our industry is a mess and continues to get worse.
