Does Associate Engine use AWS Access Key?

I received an email from Amazon saying the requests with my AWS AccessKey ID are not being signed, and I am trying to track this down.

Does AE use my AWS AccessKeyID? I didn't think so, but since it's been so long since I really had my nose in it, I thought I would ask here.

There will be an update to AE issued by August 15th to handle Amazon.com's new requirement of signing all API requests. All you should have to do is replace the ae.pl file with a new one. Bulletin will be emailed when updated AE becomes available.

It is now the 16th. August and I have not received any news of an update.
